The exchange has around 960k users, they now got a letter from the liquidator, about the current state of the process. Also they can now claim the locked funds from the company. The biggest exchange in New-Zeeland had been hacked last year, the attackers grabbed nearly 20 million USD worth of crypto-assets. After they recognized this, the exchange had frozen all accounts. In the country, cryptocurrencies are counted as property. So when someone makes the KYC, she/he will be able to get back deposits, or at least, the part of it.
The current balance of the exchange is 100 million USD, but creditors, shareholders, and tax-authority also want their part. Thanks to this, can’t know exactly, how many percent of funds will be sent back to the users, from the original deposit.
